Health Tip: Talking to Your Doctor About Weight
Prepare what you'd like to discuss

(HealthDay News) -- If you're ready to lose weight, a conversation with your doctor is a great place to start. But before you meet, make sure you're fully prepared.

The Weight-control Information Network recommends:

  • Creating a list of questions in advance, and bringing pen and paper to your appointment.
  • Bringing a loved one to help you through the appointment.
  • Asking your doctor about your target weight, safe exercise, a healthy eating plan and whether you should consider a weight-loss program.
  • Discussing medical problems or medication that affect your weight.
